Maxxis Minion DHR II Tanwall
With a completely new tread design, the Minion DHR II is the ideal tire for aggressive gravity riding. Featuring the side knobs of the legendary DHF, slightly widened for even better cornering grip, it offers extreme cornering traction. The center knobs have ramped edges for improved acceleration. Sipes on the knobs enhance the transition when turning into corners. Some of the center knobs have a paddle shape; they dig in under hard braking, helping to keep the bike under control.
Wide Trail Casing (WT)
This special carcass construction optimizes the tread pattern and tire shape for today's wider rims. Traditional tires are designed for narrow rims and become too square on wider rims, resulting in less than optimal performance. WT tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but perform excellently on all rims with an inner width between 30 and 40 mm.
Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires offer many advantages: You can ride with lower air pressure, resulting in better traction and reduced rolling resistance. And without an inner tube, the risk of punctures is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for use with sealant than other "tubeless ready" tires. Like a true UST tubeless tire, the bead of our TR tires is completely coated with a layer of rubber. This ensures successful tubeless mounting on all standard-sized rims, even on the first inflation and with minimal sealant.
Even "normal" MAXXIS MTB tires can be mounted tubeless with sealant, just like tires from other manufacturers, because the casing fabrics are very dense.
Only the new MAXXIS TR models are officially approved and guaranteed by MAXXIS for tubeless setup. Tubeless setup of other models is at your own risk.
Note: We strongly advise against the use of sealant containing ammonia. Ammonia has been proven to attack the tire casing and, depending on the amount used, can weaken it by up to 30% within just a few months.
