3. BATTERY SYMBOLS AND THEIR MEANING

Batteries are marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol above. Batteries with this symbol must not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries that contain more than 0.0005% by mass of mercury, more than 0.002% by mass of cadmium or more than 0.004% by mass of lead, the chemical name of the pollutant used is under the garbage can symbol - "Cd" stands for cadmium, "Pb " stands for lead, and "Hg" for mercury.

We urgently draw your attention to the fact that the shipping of batteries and products with built-in batteries is subject to strict dangerous goods regulations and must be labeled in accordance with the statutory provisions. Whether these are lithium?metal or lithium?ion?accumulators is irrelevant. Please also note the correct dangerous goods treatment for the selected transport route. However, a summary of these guidelines would go beyond the scope here.

Finally, it remains to be pointed out that each shipment containing a battery must be provided with the following hazard warning.
