Maxxis Dissector Folding Tire WT 66-622 TLR EXO
Troy Brosnan wanted to create a unicorn of a tire. A tire that rolls incredibly fast, carves through corners with precision, and provides excellent braking performance when needed. The tread pattern of the Rekon, Minion DHF, and High Roller II served as the starting point and was developed by MAXXIS in close collaboration with Troy during the 2018 World Cup season. The DISSECTOR, in its downhill version, is ideally suited as a rear tire, whether for racing or riding in the bike park.
The trail version also makes sense on the front wheel if you want a front tire that rolls easily and has good grip.
Wide Trail Casing (WT)
This special carcass construction optimizes the tread pattern and tire shape for today's wider rims. Traditional tires are designed for narrow rims and become too angular on wider rims, resulting in less than optimal performance.
WT tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but work excellently on all rims with an inner width between 30 and 40 mm.
Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires offer many advantages: You can ride with lower air pressure, resulting in better traction and reduced rolling resistance. And without an inner tube, the risk of punctures is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other "tubeless ready" tires. Like a true UST tubeless tire, the bead of our TR tires is completely coated with a layer of rubber. This ensures successful tubeless mounting on all standard-sized rims, even on the first inflation and with minimal sealant. "Regular" MAXXIS MTB tires, like those from other manufacturers, can also be mounted tubeless with sealant, thanks to their very dense casing fabric.
Only the new MAXXIS TR models are officially approved and guaranteed by MAXXIS for tubeless setup. Tubeless setup of other models is at your own risk.
Note: We strongly advise against the use of sealant containing ammonia. Ammonia has been proven to attack the tire casing and, depending on the amount used, can weaken it by up to 30% within just a few months.
