The Orbea Denna M40 is a dynamic e-gravel bike with a Shimano EP801 motor, 420 Wh battery, range extender option, carbon frame, 50 mm tire clearance, and fender and rack mounts. It's designed for those who primarily want to cover distance. Real distance. It will carry you effortlessly, comfortably, and with plenty of power at the rear wheel over asphalt, gravel, forest tracks, and even hilly trails.

For everything that lies ahead, the finely tuned Shimano EP801 motor with RS Gen2 provides natural and precisely metered support. But without power, nothing happens. That's why a permanently integrated, compact, yet powerful 420 Wh battery provides the kilowatts needed for all your adventures. And if you want to go even further, simply take the optional 210 Wh range extender with you. At just 1.05 kg, it's incredibly lightweight and smaller than a water bottle.

Natural power development

The EP801 motor from Shimano's high-quality EP series is specifically tuned for use on gravel bikes. Combined with Orbea's RS firmware, you get assistance that feels more like a tailwind than an e-bike. There's virtually no artificial boost, just finely metered power that allows you to easily tackle even technical climbs while seated.

Long range: Up to 3500 meters of elevation gain are possible with just one battery charge. Ideal for all-day tours – or even several.

Balanced and stable on the move

The frame's gravel geometry ensures relaxed handling even at high speeds or on loose surfaces. A low center of gravity enhances stability in corners and when carrying luggage, while the balanced frame design, combined with the carbon material, effectively filters vibrations. Sluggish handling is therefore not a characteristic of the Denna M40.

These qualities are also reflected in the carbon fork with its generous crown. Its flexible shape and extra tire clearance absorb small bumps while maintaining a precise line even on challenging trails.

Touring, everyday life, bikepacking

The Denna M40 is a sporty gravel bike with added versatility. Orbea has equipped it with integrated eyelets for mudguards, two bottle cages, and rack mounts (on the Denna H-series) for maximum adaptability, transforming it into a fully-fledged touring bike in no time. Whether it's a weekend trip, a daily commute, or a long tour with a tent and panniers – the Denna M40 adapts to your needs.

However, on unfamiliar routes, you never know what the surface will be like. For most challenges, you come standard with robust 700x45c Vittoria Terreno Dry gravel tires. These offer a solid blend of speed, smooth riding, and tracking. And if things get even rougher, the frame and fork can accommodate tires up to 50 mm wide.
