But when this wind is tamed, it carries them to new heights of performance. It is this DNA that the new Xelius DRS perfectly embodies. This bike—a combination of the Xelius SL and the Aircode DRS—doesn't play with the wind, but rather faces it, challenges it, and brings out the best in it.
In the wind tunnel, the numbers are clear: The aerodynamics are 15% improved compared to its predecessors. The outstanding performance is confirmed in watts, with savings of up to 15 watts at high speeds on flat surfaces. And what about racing? A new speed rocket that crowned Cassandre Beaugrand at the Olympic Games. And it will continue to push the performance of every individual to the limit in the future!
Xelius DRS, performance combined with comfort
With the radical decision to combine the best of two bikes with numerous professional victories, Lapierre's engineers made a significant choice. However, this bike can't be reduced to speed alone: These new, racy lines and the simple design (particularly evident in the fork) offer a completely new perspective. The thoroughly redesigned 3D Tubular technology exposes the entire seat tube, allowing it to deform along its entire length.
The result is significantly improved comfort, subtly complementing the twitchy geometry of the rear triangle. Performance combined with comfort, confirmed by compatibility with a wide range of tires (up to 32 mm) to tackle a variety of roads (cobblestone, off-road, gravel, etc.). A born road bike!
