Das RD-M8260 Modell ergänzt die drahtlose Deore XT Baureihe um eine E-MTB-taugliche Schaltwerksoption. Gegenüber seinem Pendant setzt das extrem widerstandsfähige 12-fach Schaltwerk bei der Energieversorgung auf den Hauptakku des E-Bikes. Die bewährte Wireless-Schalttechnologie bleibt neben anderen Stärken des RD-M8250 Schaltwerks aber erhalten. Auf diese Weise verwendet das RD-M8260 Schaltwerk beispielsweise auch die Shadow ES Konstruktion, welche ein schlankes, keilförmiges Low-Profile-Design ermöglicht. Und auch die automatische Rückstellfunktion, die das Schaltwerk im Falle eines Aufpralls sofort wieder in seine ursprüngliche Position zurückversetzt, ist mit an Bord.
