- No pain, no numbness - hand discomfort while cycling is widespread, especially on longer rides. Conventional, rounded, or seemingly ergonomic grips often cause numbness in the fingers, as well as pain and irritation in the palms of the hands and wrists. Discomfort in the forearms and upper arms, as well as in the neck and shoulders, can also often be attributed to unsuitable grips. Chronic misalignment can lead to pain such as carpal tunnel syndrome. With the iconic GP1, Ergon has enabled millions of cyclists to enjoy pain-free cycling for more than 20 years.
- Distributes pressure, protects nerves - While cycling, a significant portion of your body weight rests on your hands holding the handlebars. This results in intense pressure on a small area of the grip. This often compresses the extremely sensitive ulnar nerve, which runs close to the skin's surface in the area of the little finger, causing unpleasant numbness. The wing-shaped grip of the GP1 Evo, which perfectly adapts to the hand, effectively distributes the intense pressure over a larger area, thus preventing discomfort.
- Straight wrist prevents discomfort - When the wrist bends while cycling, nerves, tendons, and blood vessels are compressed. This can lead to a narrowing of the carpal tunnel and potential damage to the median nerve. The ergonomic wing design of the GP1 Evo supports the wrist in a gentle, straight position. - Two sizes for optimal pressure distribution - To effectively distribute pressure on the handlebar and prevent discomfort, it's important that your hand doesn't completely wrap around the grip.
