Cycling is addictive... my first attempts at riding in 2010 and 2011, rather pitiful as I have to admit, quickly developed into a true passion. As a native of Meschede, I call the Arnsberg Forest my training area. Since the beginning of 2014 I have also been traveling by racing bike and, thanks to my studies in Cologne, I am also a regular at the local velodrome (cycle track). At this point, first of all: every cyclist should have ridden on the track at least once; On the one hand it is an unusual effort, on the other hand it is a real adrenaline rush!
In winter I do more strength training in the studio. Endurance is maintained or expanded in cold and wet conditions through running, indoor cycling and, since this season, roller training.
In the past, I have always learned more from mistakes than based on sports science findings. Of course, it is also beneficial to have your own experiences. But it was not uncommon for the recovery from these mistakes to take time (a week of sore muscles, oO). That's why I took my coaching license C in cycling in 2014. I can now structure and diversify my training better; a real benefit for athletic performance!
However, the focus should be on health and, in particular, the enjoyment of sport. The mental balance that cycling means to me is unique. Even at the highest level of exertion and with a heart rate of 190, the feeling of freedom, the nature, the atmosphere and above all the pride in what you are capable of makes me smile big and sends a cold shiver down my spine.
In August 2015, the cooperation with liquid-life/Neumann Brilon, my cycling equipment supplier since the beginning of my 'career', was launched. I'm looking forward to a great time together and would like to thank you for your support :).
