On the way to this tranquil village you just think:
Final stop Titmaringhausen…
But this shouldn't sound negative at all, because Titmaringhausen is really well located and, given its size, puts on a great event! Also the loving description of the route and the trails... GREAT ^^.
So off we go on the long haul with a total of three women and quite ambitious men – starting signal! – and most of them were gone. But I'm not allowed to measure myself against them, it not only spoils the race for me, but is also simply utopian. Because in Titmaringhausen, those who really have it in them go on long-distance journeys.
After a short introductory lap, we went on the route, which had to be driven three times. I have to admit, somehow my legs didn't really work. I didn't really make any progress on the often slightly damp meadows; the climbs weren't steep, but I was still... hmm... slow. Well, about 80 km to go, so no stress about it…
I had imagined the rooty trails to be worse, given all the stories. However, no one had told me about the mud hole; a trail that is ALWAYS wet. I lost a few minutes due to a fall in front of me, so I pushed the trail on the first lap. But for my conscience that couldn't happen in the next few rounds...
The last trail, the Düdinghausen bobsleigh track, is familiar to me from the Willingen Bike Marathon. No problem!
On the second lap I cranked with still somewhat tired legs. But I rode the muddy trail, CHECK.
Unfortunately the third round was canceled a bit... now it got pretty uncomfortable from above too. The drizzle was joined by wind and fog, all in all I just wanted to get to the finish.
I was also the first woman to arrive there... The journey time wasn't that great though. Well, WON! YAY!
My dear ladies and gentlemen, you all drove me crazy:
Titmaringhausen trails are no comparison to Nordenau ^^!
Since I live near Nordenau, I'm practicing it diligently for next year 🙂
Now we're off to the end of the season in Wiemeringhausen, the Langenberg Marathon !
