Manufacturer Info Shimano
- In 1921, a small company was founded in the bay of Osaka, in the Japanese town of Sakai. For 5 yen in rent and with a borrowed machine from a factory-owning friend, an ambitious 26-year-old worked on his dream. Just 10 years later, Shozaburo Shimano began exporting, and today his name is known around the world as a brand for the highest-quality bicycle components. Shimano has developed continuously and is now among the top 30 global brands, arguably the most important company in the international cycling industry. Reliability and quality, tradition and innovation, design and functionality - all this comes together at Shimano so that the cyclist can ride faster, further, more comfortably, and more safely.
