Weight reduction, finely tuned geometry, and a revised suspension make the new 2026 Santa Cruz Bicycles Nomad even more controlled and comfortable on demanding trails. Reduced anti-rise and anti-squat ensure more traction, better off-road performance, and a more active suspension – even under braking. Small changes, big difference

At first glance, the new Nomad looks very similar to its predecessor, but it is precisely these small adjustments that make the difference. The head tube angle has been made minimally slacker and is now 63.6° in the high position and 63.3° in the low position. This ensures even more stability and control at high speeds and in steep terrain.

In addition, the kinematics of the proven, individually tunable VPP suspension have been further optimized. The anti-rise value has been slightly reduced, which means the bike dives less when braking and the suspension works better even under braking loads.

At the same time, the anti-squat value has also been slightly reduced. This improves traction and ensures more efficient pedaling, while the handling over hard edges and impacts becomes noticeably smoother and more controlled.

Lighter is better

The new Nomad features targeted weight savings – exactly 86 grams compared to its predecessor. Much of this reduction comes from a slimmer down tube, though the entire carbon layup of the frame has also been overhauled.

It’s not just about making the bike lighter. The reduced material in the down tube makes the frame noticeably more compliant. This ensures that vibrations and impacts are dampened better, reducing fatigue on long descents.

You’ll notice the result immediately: once you reach the bottom, your hands and feet feel less strained. And you benefit even more in the long run, as your body feels less exhausted the next day.
