SPEED IS EVERYTHING

The bike with the characteristically curved handlebars is your model if you regularly take part in competitions or just enjoy speed. Everything on a racing bike is designed for speed. An aerodynamic design and the use of lightweight materials are basic requirements for this.

Aluminum, carbon and titanium are used in the frame construction of high-quality bikes. Mudguards , stands , headlights and luggage racks would only add unnecessary weight and are therefore omitted. For the same reason, only light rim brakes are usually installed. Narrow wheels and tires also contribute to the total weight being only 6 to 10 kilograms.

When buying a racing bike, special attention should be paid to the gears . The three main manufacturers, Sram , Campagnolo and Shimano , despite having many similarities, also have significant differences. As a newcomer, you should test which arrangement and shape of the gear lever suits you best during a detailed test drive! When it comes to precision and smoothness, all manufacturers deliver very good to excellent models, depending on the price range.

At Liquid Life, when it comes to racing bikes, we rely on the unbeatably large and versatile range from the American bike manufacturer Trek . We can also recommend the quality brands Cube and Ghost to current and future racing drivers.

One thing unites all racing cyclists, whether professional, amateur racer or hobby rider: the fun of speed! At Liquid-Life you will find machines designed for maximum speed that are bursting with racing genes. Everything is just right here: from the aerodynamic design to the finest materials. High-quality aluminum alloys or exclusive carbon fibers allow the production of the best frames. A real composition that guarantees you increased efficiency and speed, and not just in competitions.

When it comes to racing bikes, the motto is: Less is more! During planning and development, the engineers eliminated anything that would add unnecessary weight to the scales. The result is impressive: depending on the version and features, the weight of the complete bike is between an impressive six and ten kilograms. A basic requirement for extremely fast rides and laps! However, we don't skimp on the equipment - even the electronic gearshift doesn't have to remain a dream for us.

A QUESTION ABOUT THE MATERIAL: ALUMINUM OR CARBON?

Building a racing bike frame requires a lot of sensitivity from the manufacturer. The geometry is often the result of years of work and development, and the experiences of professional drivers are usually incorporated into the projects. One reason why the top manufacturers seek close contact with professional teams. Determining the perfect material is no less complex. Most racing bike frames are made of aluminum or carbon. Steel is rarely used in racing bikes: the material is simply too heavy for this demanding area. The only exceptions here are fixies.

Aluminum and carbon allow the production of a frame with a low weight and maximum stability. Aluminum is cheaper than carbon and is therefore usually found in the middle price segment of racing bikes. With carbon, the frame designers can let off steam to their hearts' content. Exclusive, top-styled frames with the best performance values are the result of this great work. By the way, the brand manufacturers use a wide variety of carbon technologies, and there are often even differences within a model series.

THE BIG ROAD BIKE BRANDS AT LIQUID LIF

Trek

Whether it's an aluminum racing machine or an exclusive carbon model, you'll find the best racing bikes from the US cult manufacturer in the Trek brand shop. Trek's performance bikes are characterized by the most modern materials and innovative technologies. Carefully designed frames and forks are completed with only the finest parts. This creates a successful overall package that guarantees you fast lap times anytime and anywhere - in competition as well as in training.

The Trek Madone is the ultimate podium finish super road bike. Trek-Segafredo's top stars achieve victories around the world with this incomparable racing machine. A specialist for mountain stages is the Émonda from Trek, an extremely light bike made of OCLV Carbon for particularly tough challenges. Do you want one of the best endurance racing bikes ever? Then the Trek Domane is the perfect bike for you, undoubtedly the optimal racing bike for long races and bad roads. The Trek Project One configuration concept allows you to adapt the various models to your individual needs.

Cube

The recipe for success of Cube racing bikes is based on German know-how at a fair price. Highly technical materials such as C:68 Carbon give the Bavarian bike manufacturer a competitive advantage that should not be underestimated. The extremely high carbon content of 68% means a lower resin content. This extraordinary quantitative ratio is made possible by an optimized manufacturing process. The wall thickness can therefore be reduced without the frame losing stability and rigidity. C:68 Carbon is of course used in Cube's top models.

The magnificent Cube Litening C:68 is a real shining light in the high-end racing bike sector. Developed with the C:68 carbon technology, the tube shape was further optimized by the Cube engineers for maximum steering precision and extremely low weight. The Litening C:68 SLT Disc comes with an electronic Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 shifting group, Newmen cockpit and a sensational weight of just 6.8 kilograms. A racing bike that will bring tears of joy to your faces and tears of disillusionment to your competitors!

Ghost

The Upper Palatinate company Ghost Bikes has been synonymous with innovation, premium bicycles and top quality for over two decades. Groundbreaking developments such as the RIOT Link rear suspension or the revolutionary E:i Shock are just two examples with which Ghost has been able to further optimize the efficiency of bicycles. The brand's portfolio ranges from city bikes to mountain bikes and racing bikes.

The Ghost Nivolet series was developed for fastest laps and times on asphalt. The integrated fork design is just as impressive as the pleasant geometry. The Nivolet is available in a wide variety of designs. When it comes to the frame, you can choose between Ultralight Carbon (UC), Light Carbon (LC) and aluminum. Depending on the area of application, a wide variety of equipment packages are available from standard to high-end.

Santa Cruz

The US bike manufacturer Santa Cruz is also one of the biggest premium brands on the market. The dedication to cycling is reflected in every product from the exclusive manufacturer. The aim of being able to offer cyclists the best possible bike drives the engineers and frame designers to achieve top performance. If you want to get the most out of yourself, then the Santa Cruz brand shop is the right place for you!

The Santa Cruz Stigmata is a special class CX bike. Offered by the manufacturer as a “cross bike for mountain bikers”, the ideal device for year-round training or tough cross-country races. The heart of the robust racing bike for rough terrain and rough use is the stylish carbon CC frame. Like every Santa Cruz frame, the Stigmata is a true masterpiece. When it comes to equipment, you have three attractive options: Rival, CX1 and Ultegra.

IMPORTANT: THE IDEAL SIZE

In order to achieve maximum performance, the racing bike has to fit you like a good pair of shoes. What is important is the frame size, which you can determine quickly and easily using our size calculator. If you are between two values in the calculation, the smaller frame height allows you to ride more aggressively. Of course, we have your dream racing bike ready for you in different sizes. Of course, the ladies also get their money’s worth with us. Special frame geometries and selected parts ensure a lot of comfort and the highest level of safety with maximum efficiency.

THE ROAD BIKE IN ALL ITS DIVERSITY: DIFFERENCES IN THE MAIN MODEL TYPES

The fact is: not all racing bikes are the same! As in the area of mountain biking, there are specialists for the individual areas of application. In addition to the experts for sprints, uphill and long distances, with us you will also find first-class all-rounders. The tire width plays a significant role on a racing bike. Basically all racing bikes roll on 28”. For the fastest lap times in competition and training, the extremely narrow 23 mm tires are ideal; you get a little more comfort with 25 mm rubber.

The so-called endurance racing bikes, which usually have 28 mm tires, are particularly suitable for long distances. A new trend is gravel bikes, with which you can sometimes race along gravel roads. Tire widths of 38 mm are not uncommon here. The wide tires not only offer more grip and traction, but also ensure increased driving comfort. The CX bikes (cyclocross) are a special feature. This special type of racing bike is designed for use off paved roads, i.e. it is a specialist for dirt and mud. In the Liquid Life Shop you will definitely find the perfect racing bike for all requirements! If you are unsure about the area of application, we will of course be happy to help you.

BRAKES: DISC OR RIM BRAKES

The question didn't arise just a few years ago, but modern technologies now make disc brakes an interesting alternative for racing cyclists. Although rim brakes are still light in weight, disc brakes score points with consistent braking performance in all driving situations, regardless of the weather. It's not without reason that disc brakes are standard on mountain bikes and cyclocross bikes. So why not on a racing bike too?

Even modern gravel bikes no longer come without disc brakes. A trend that is also becoming increasingly established in racing bikes. Depending on the requirements, the disc brakes are operated either mechanically or hydraulically. High-quality disc brakes are exclusively hydraulic in nature. If you can tolerate a few grams of extra weight and want to enjoy maximum braking power, there is definitely no way around disc brakes!

SUITABLE EQUIPMENT AND ACCESSORIES FOR ROAD BIKES

Of course, when fighting for fast times, neither mudguards nor luggage racks are normally needed. You won't find these attachments on your racing bike from the factory, but there are legitimate exceptions. The so-called gravel bikes combine the characteristics of a racing bike with the highest level of suitability for everyday use. Some gravel models can be easily retrofitted with various components if necessary.

Special fastening eyelets allow the subsequent installation of mudguards, luggage racks or stands. On long tours, a second water bottle holder is also recommended to prevent dehydration. Of course, the racing bike can also be customized with various parts. These include, among other things, handlebar tapes for an improved grip or a different saddle for more comfort or less weight.
