The Cube Stereo Hybrid One22 is suited for riders who are looking for more comfort and traction than an e-MTB hardtail provides, but who do not need a long-travel enduro e-bike. The suspension responds well to roots, gravel, small ledges, and rutted forest paths. At the same time, the bike remains easy to control on long distances. The rather balanced seating position relieves strain on tours without sacrificing the direct handling feel of a mountain bike.

If you primarily ride on forest roads, wide forest tracks, and regional mountain bike routes, the 120 mm of travel is usually sufficient. Compared to a hardtail, the rear shock offers more ground contact and reduces impacts that would otherwise be transmitted directly to the rider and the rear wheel. This helps on uneven terrain and can save energy on long stages.

If your tours regularly take you over natural trails, the Race and SLX models are worth considering. Both feature higher-quality suspension than the Pro models. The SLX adds a Fox 34 Float AWL, Shimano XT four-piston brakes, and a dropper seatpost. This allows the saddle to be lowered from the handlebars before steeper descents. This creates freedom of movement and improves control.

If you are looking for technical descents with high drops, large jumps, or very steep sections, the One22 is not ideally focused for your needs.

For such routes, a Cube Stereo Hybrid One44 with more suspension travel and a more descent-oriented geometry offers greater reserves. The One22, on the other hand, makes sense when touring comfort, efficient progress, and forgiving handling are more important than maximum downhill performance.

The One22 is also suitable for everyday use. The FE models already come with mudguards, lighting, a kickstand, and a luggage rack. They are well-suited for commuting, weekend tours, and trips with luggage, all while retaining the fundamental characteristics of an E-MTB fully. Those who use the bike exclusively on trails can save weight with a standard version and do without attachments that are not needed off-road.

The mechanical Shimano XT twelve-speed derailleur combines a wide gear range with precise gear shifts.

The SLT stands out more clearly from the other variants. The Fox 36 features 130 mm of travel and a stiffer construction. The electronic Shimano XT Di2 derailleur executes gear changes electrically. In addition, there is Bosch ABS Pro on the front wheel. The system can reduce front-wheel locking during hard braking maneuvers and is intended to help maintain steering control. The SLT is aimed at riders who value technical equipment and more robust components over a lower entry price.

All current variants use the Bosch Performance Line CX from the BDU38 series and the Bosch Smart System. The motor is delivered from the factory with balanced performance settings. For approved bikes, the maximum assistance can be increased via the eBike Flow app. Cube specifies a maximum torque of up to 120 Nm for the current One22 models. The actual adjustable values depend on the software version, approval, and configuration of the respective bike.

A high maximum torque helps with steep climbs, loose surfaces, and low speeds. However, it does not replace a suitable gear. Those who shift down early and ride with a consistent cadence use the motor power more efficiently. Very high power values increase energy consumption and can accelerate wear on the chain, cassette, and tires.

For everyday use and travel, the first decision should be between Standard and FE. This is followed by the choice of trim level. Those looking for a comfortable commuting solution with occasional forest rides will find a suitable combination in the Pro FE. For longer tours with luggage and frequent off-road sections, the SLX 800 FE offers more extensive equipment.
