Shimano SLX FC-M7120-1 12-speed crankset w/o BB 170mm
During the development of the Dura Ace CL900 brake rotors, Shimano's engineers succeeded in preventing heat-induced deformation of the discs. As a result, the CL900 rotors offer more reliable, more controllable braking performance while being quieter than ever before. The weight has fortunately remained at the low level of the previous version.
Also on board is Shimano's Ice-Tech cooling technology, which ensures excellent heat dissipation and consistent braking performance even on long, steep descents. The brake rotors feature a three-layer sandwich construction. Their stainless steel flanks with an aluminum core offer significantly improved heat dissipation. This allows the temperature to be reduced by around 100 °C. In addition, the FREEZA aluminum cooling fins reduce the system temperature by a further 50 °C due to their increased surface area. Heat dissipation is supported by a special surface coating. Due to the higher heat dissipation, smaller brake rotors than usual can be used. Furthermore, the service life of the brake pads is significantly extended.
Typical for Shimano, the rotors are suitable for Center Lock mounts, which allow for quick and easy installation, offer a secure fit, and ensure a clean and compact look.
