As with the XTR, the new DEORE XT M8000 offers the full range of 1x11, 2x11, and 3x11 gear ratios. This allows riders of all abilities, skill levels, and terrain types to find the perfect drivetrain option.
Thanks to the RHYTHM STEP gearing, the DEORE XT M8000 ensures uninterrupted power transfer. The gear ratios have been precisely selected to minimize jumps between gears and maintain a consistent cadence. Regardless of whether a single, double, or triple chainring system is chosen, this ensures that the rider's energy is always efficiently converted into forward motion, maintaining flow on the trail.
The new 2x11 and 3x11 drivetrains of the M8000 series offer an exceptionally wide gear range. Thanks to the combination with the 11-40T cassette, as with the XTR series, this range still allows for close gear ratios, ensuring a consistently controlled cadence. New to the DEORE XT series, however, is an 11-46T HG-X11 cassette (CS-M8000) developed specifically (and exclusively) for 1x11 systems. With this gear range, it represents the widest-range cassette Shimano has ever introduced.
