When we revived the Stigmata in 2015, we combined a range of MTB standards and design features to deliver our vision of a modern cyclocross bike. It clicked straight away. After just a few months it raced to victory at the legendary Three Peaks and has since held its own in cross races all over the world.
Nowadays, the internal brake lines, generous tire clearance and thru-axles that made the Stigmata famous have almost become the norm on cross bikes. We have therefore dared to take a new look: and offer today's driver the standards of tomorrow.
The bolted bottom bracket remains an eternal favorite for us on all bikes thanks to its proven, robust and compatible design. "As long as it doesn't break..." ...and it just never breaks.
The possibility of mounting mudguards means that. "I'll be gone then!", and underlines the ever-increasing scope of the stigma. There is also the third bottle holder, thanks to which you can still take at least one normal bottle with you when bikepacking, even with a large frame bag.
Are you looking for more adventure and need wider tires? The frame now fits up to 45mm 700c tires or 2.1" 650b tires. Get the latter with our Force/X01-AXS equipment mix and you have the ultimate, road-ready singletrack rocket.
And in terms of good old off-road etiquette, the Stigmata has had some training sessions at the highball school for stiffness, handling and off-road feel. The carbon layup was created not only with our experiences from the Highball, but also from Danny MacAskill's carbon trial bike. It provides a lot of propulsion and stiffness where required, but also offers comfortable flex.
Geometry also plays a major role here. We have made optimizations to improve handling, especially for smaller drivers. By redesigning the 52/54cm frame, the Stigmata now fits comfortably for riders 160cm and older. Using different fork offsets - 50mm for sizes 52-54cm and 45mm for sizes 56-61cm - ensures your toes don't get caught in the front wheel.
Rounded off by stylish details such as a 12mm thru-axle on the front wheel, flatmount brake mount and matching RESERVE wheel options, the Stigmata allows freedom in the choice of route and the categories become blurred.
