The Highball is our flagship carbon hardtail and a cross-country racehorse with surprising versatility.

The Highball is more powerful than a pure marathon hardtail and more balanced than most XC race machines. It was developed for long and hard races and tours. We have not only improved the carbon layup process, but also optimized the architecture of the frame. Built around a 27.2mm seat post, with flatter seatstays and no connecting strut, we achieve a lot of vertical flex with high torsional rigidity. This allows efficient propulsion with maximum comfort. The result is a bike that is extremely fast, but still offers real fun to ride. With capacity for three bottle cages, the always reliable bolt-on bottom bracket and of course the lifetime guarantee that is standard on all Santa Cruz bikes. The Highball is a bike with almost unlimited range.
